People attend with chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, palpitations, high blood pressure or known coronary and valve disease. Assessment may include examination, ECG, echocardiography, laboratory tests and imaging, followed by angiography or rhythm evaluation when required. Depending on the findings, care can involve risk-factor control, medicines, angioplasty and stenting, pacemaker treatment or transcatheter valve therapy, with surgical referral for suitable cases.
