About Our Department
Patients may present with prolonged fever, recurrent infection, unexplained inflammation, travel-related illness, infection after a procedure or symptoms in the setting of weakened immunity. Evaluation draws on exposure history, examination, cultures, molecular or serological tests and imaging to identify the organism and its effects. Treatment pathways include targeted antimicrobial therapy, source control, supportive care, monitoring and collaboration with surgical or critical care teams. The department aims to establish an accurate diagnosis, treat infection effectively and limit complications, resistance and transmission.
