The Head Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery Department at Masina Hospital provides multidisciplinary surgical care for cancers of the mouth, throat, larynx, thyroid, jaws and related structures. Cancer removal is planned alongside reconstruction, rehabilitation and supportive care to protect function, appearance and quality of life wherever possible.

About Our Department
Patients may present with a persistent mouth ulcer, neck lump, swallowing difficulty, voice change, unexplained bleeding or a confirmed head and neck cancer. Evaluation includes examination, endoscopy, imaging, biopsy and staging within a multidisciplinary cancer review. Treatment may combine tumour removal, neck dissection, jaw or thyroid surgery and reconstructive procedures with chemotherapy, rehabilitation, nutritional support and pain management as appropriate. The department aims to control cancer while preserving speech, swallowing, facial form and the best attainable quality of life.
