Assessment is age-appropriate and includes history from the family, physical examination and targeted tests where needed, alongside growth and developmental review. Care may involve medicines, nutrition or asthma plans, vaccination, parental guidance and referral to intensive care, surgery, speech, occupational or psychological services. The department aims to resolve illness early and support each child's physical, developmental and emotional wellbeing.
