The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management at Masina Hospital supports safe surgery, diagnostic procedures and recovery through carefully planned anaesthesia and pain relief. Its scope includes general, regional and local anaesthesia, monitored sedation and interventional care for acute or persistent pain, with continuous attention to comfort, safety and individual medical needs.

Patients may be referred before an operation or present with acute pain after surgery, back and neck pain, nerve-related pain or long-standing pain that limits daily life. Evaluation includes medical history, physical examination, review of investigations and an assessment of procedural risk or the source of pain. Care may involve an individual anaesthetic plan, medication, image-guided injections, nerve blocks or implanted pain therapies. The department aims to make procedures safer, reduce pain and support a smoother, more comfortable recovery.
