Women may present with menstrual problems, pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, fertility or contraceptive needs, pregnancy-related concerns, menopause symptoms or suspected gynaecological disease. Evaluation may include clinical examination, ultrasound, cervical screening, colposcopy, mammography or laboratory tests according to the concern. Treatment pathways range from counselling, medicines and antenatal monitoring to pelvic floor care, endometrial ablation, minimally invasive surgery, hysterectomy or cancer treatment.
