About Our Department

Patients may present with a diagnosed lung or oesophageal lesion, recurrent pleural fluid, chest wall abnormality, thoracic trauma or symptoms requiring surgical investigation. Assessment combines examination with chest imaging, endoscopic or tissue diagnosis and review of breathing capacity and operative risk. Depending on the findings, treatment may include minimally invasive or open removal of diseased tissue, pleural procedures, oesophageal surgery, chest wall repair or coordinated cancer treatment. The department aims to treat chest disease effectively while preserving respiratory function and supporting a safe recovery.
