About Our Department
Patients may present with chest pain, breathlessness, reduced exercise tolerance, valve disease, blocked coronary arteries, congenital defects or disorders of the aorta. Evaluation brings together clinical findings, blood tests and cardiac imaging, with angiography or other investigations where indicated, before the team reviews operative risk. Treatment pathways can include medical optimisation, bypass surgery, valve procedures, aortic repair or minimally invasive surgery, followed by monitored recovery. The department seeks to restore effective heart function, reduce symptoms and support safer long-term cardiac health.
